Shouldn’t You Be Writing

It’s the last day of NaNoWriMo folks! Here’s some Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit ones!

Ahead of Schedule

Hey folks,

Remember how I said that I wanted to shoot for 10,000 words this month since I’m going to Israel for 10 days? Well it’s day 12 of NaNoWriMo and I am less than 2,000 words away from that goal.

Since I leave for Israel on Wednesday and won’t be back until the 27th I don’t know how many words I’m going to do but I think I might now shoot for 15,000.

15,000 words might not be shooting for the moon normally but it won’t be easy for me due to my trip.

I look at this goal and think back to when I talked about SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound). The goal I now have set is a SMART one so I am going for it.

Shoot for the moon everyone and you’ll achieve great things!

Side note:

For upcoming posts, there will be a Shouldn’t You Be Writing for both this coming Monday and the Monday where I’m gone. There won’t be any Thursday posts for the next 2 weeks. I will resume the normal posting schedule when I return.

Happy writing!

The Editing Bug

Hey Everyone,

So I know they say that NaNoWriMo is the time to turn off your internal editor but since I’m doing things differently this year I’m actually focusing on editing what I have written in Sapphyre.

I’ve discovered that whenever I get stuck, it’s because something is wrong earlier on. I’ve gotten stuck and have been unable to finish a couple of my chapters so I decided to look through what I have written and make some changes.

This time I did things a bit differently than I’ve done before. I printed out what I’ve written and I’m going over it with a red pen.

Doing it this way is making it so I’m seeing more than I would just on the computer.

Now that I’ve worked on a few pages, I’m going to go into the computer to make the changes to this first little bit, then go back to my red pen.

I’m already excited with how things are going and I can’t wait to discover what I’m missing.

Hope NaNoWriMo is going well for all of you participants!
